What to send for your knitted tapes sample review

Start with the details you have. A reference photo or sample can help explain anything you have not specified yet.

Position and finished width: Show the tape position on the garment and specify its relaxed width, intended edge finish and reference construction.
Hand and stretch: Describe the softness, drape and extension you want. Include a sample if these qualities are difficult to communicate in a drawing.
Sewing and care: Share the seam method, base fabric and wash conditions. Identify the dimensional or appearance checks needed after sewing and care.
Colour and order breakdown: List colours, quantities and preferred supply format, together with the sample quantity needed for garment trials.

Is every knitted tape elastic?

Knitted construction and elastic performance are different specification questions. Confirm the yarn composition and measure the required extension and recovery on the sample. Do not use the term elastic solely because a tape has a knitted appearance.

How do I choose between knitted tape and woven webbing?

Start with the trim position, required stability, hand feel and sewing method. Compare physical samples at the required width and evaluate them under the intended use and care conditions. Select a construction from those results rather than from a category name alone.

What should be checked in a knitted tape sample?

Review relaxed width, extension and recovery where relevant, hand, edge curl, colour or pattern, seam behaviour, dimensional change after care and the appearance of the finished garment.
